Anything other than spontaneous birth is premature

Anything other than spontaneous birth is premature birth.

There is a cultural obsession with evicting babies before they are ready to be born.

I feel this stems from a rooted lack of trust in Great Spirit/God, a lack of trust in the intelligence of our bodies and our babies' bodies , and in divinity itself.

Perhaps its related to our wish to play God, and to try to control fate.

There is an obvious influence & push from the medical system, including medical home birth midwives, who are threatening women that if they do not birth within a certain arbitruary time frame, they would be submitted to the hospital, or if in the hospital scheduled for invasive surgery.

No, babies do not expire. No, our babies' placenta does not expire.

Yes, our babies will be born when they are ready.

No, if there is a true emergency, surgury would be automatic, and an immediate response.

Rushing birth is completely opposite of what our primal biological bodies require to birth.

Inductions, medical and "natural" (i dont believe in natural inductions, simply because rushing birth is not natural itself) are harmful to both mother and baby and can be life threatening! (Yes even the "natural" ones).

Inductions are the beginning of a cascade of interventions.

And as we understand through physiological birth, birth works best when left undisturbed.

The more that we trust in our bodies, trust in our babies, trust in great spirit, trust in the creator , and trust in the great mystery- the more peacefully our little ones will be brought into this world, and the more peace will ripple into the world and for future generations.

I hear often from first time mothers "but how will I know what to do?"
And I want to remind us all that our ancestors wisdom is woven within our DNA.
In a spiritual sense, our ancestors live on through us and we are innately connected to them.
And in a physical sense our minds don't need to know what to do when our bodies already know what they were biologically designed for
It's actually better to silence our minds and their need for control and to let our bodies function & flow as they are meant to.
The birth process is to surrender to our primal function.

I believe that one of the greatest manipulation tactics is to make someone believe that they don't know their own body, or the baby they are growing in their womb.
To make someone believe, through fear based tactics, that they don't know what they are biologically designed to do, is absolutely a crime against humanity.
I'm here to remind you sis, that you absolutely know yourself better than anyone else.
I'm here to remind you mama, that you absolutely know your baby better than anyone else.
Sometimes we just need that reminder.
We love our babies so much that we want the absolute best for the efficacy of their livelihood. We will do anything to keep them safe and protected.
You already have the tools within you to do so.
Look at a mama in the wild. A fierce lioness and her pride, a bear and her cubs!
No one tells her how to birth and raise her young because she knows her place instinctively.

When I got my first period at the age of 12 I had no idea what it was!
I called my cousin who was my closest friend to ask her what was happening, afraid of the blood I found in my underwear!
I grew up with shame around my body and the natural excretions it made and I had no idea what was normal because I was too afraid to ask about it and didn't have someone in my life that educated me about it.

Did you know that it takes TEN menstruating years for our bodies cycles to regulate?!
And that birth control actually SUPPRESSES our cycles rather than regulate them?!
Did you know that PMS (premenstrual syndrome) are NOT a variation of normal but rather a way our bodies signal to us that we are out of balance?!
And that there are natural ways we can treat our bodies to support harmonious healthy periods!

It's likely that this workshop will be both informative to parents/guardians AND pre-teens and teens because MOST of us haven't had the proper guidance and education surrounding the magnificence of our bodies.

This is why I am so passionate to bring this fun and engaging workshop to a safe and intimate setting for families to deepen their trust between one another and to approach and live through their menstruating years with confidence and ease.

I'm feeling nourished by the autumn Sun, the colors of a changing season, the cool nights and the warm fire stove, my loving partner, my growing baby, the amazing abundance of food that we are able to source locally where we live, the spring water we have found up the mountain and have been drinking for the last month, the presence of kinship, moving my body, and the act of letting go and choosing to surrender.

Today is recognized by a multitude of cultures as a time where the veil between worlds is at its thinnest and it is a time to remember, celebrate and honor our ancestors.
This time carries new depth for me as my sweet papa has recently transitioned from physical to spirit.
Last night my baby woke up with a lot of energy to play in the "witching hour" of the night.
I surprisingly had some energy too. I thought of my dad and shed some tears in my grief, and then he came to visit me in my dreams.
He was excited to tell me about a new fruit he had tried. How sweet it tasted and vibrant it's color was, yet coated in sharp thorns. I realized then that he was talking about prickly pear, cactus fruit. 🌵
It made me think of this incredible gift of life, & the bittersweetness of what it means to love and be loved.
Grief is really one of the highest expressions of love, because the pain we feel is a direct mirror of the joy & love we share with the other.
The prickly thorns of the cactus fruit call for only the brave ones who approach with honor and respect to enjoy the unique honey like sweetness of the prickly pear fruits.
My dad was brave with his love. He showed his bravery with vulnerability and set a noble example for his children. He always shed tears of his love for us without shame.
..Recently, I have been resting in quiet spaces, honoring this time as my creativity has seemingly came to a pause while I process his transition.
One thing that has been arising for me in this sobering time, is a strong reminder to live in gratitude & appreciation for every moment here. What a surreal gift it is to be alive.
It can be easy to forget when we get trapped in our thoughts or distracted by the mundane of modern living.
So if you're reading this, I pray that you remember with me and together we praise this present moment and opportunity to love & be loved.
Take a moment each day to give thanks for this life, to give thanks to your kin whom you get to share it with. Look them in the eyes a little longer than usual. Give them a bit longer of a hug. Live playfully and tread lightly.
