Women, you are invited to a birth story sharing circle on April 19th, from 1pm-3pm in Nevada City. This will be a private, safe and confidential container of women to either witness or be witnessed in sharing the story of their babies birth. This is a free-of-charge community event with

I am the woman behind the camera who is so pleased to announce my photography offerings with you all.
Since I was a child I was an avid photographer! My mom and dad would buy me disposable cameras to which i would take everywhere with me.
I've always had an eye for beauty. I love to capture the subtleties that may often go unnoticed.
My grounded and slow pace allows my mind and observation skills to be in its peak, while creating fluid nonchalant atmospheres for my clients to feel in peace and under-pressured.
It fills me with joy to capture your beauty, so thank you for following me along as I boldly extend this heart centered offering to you all.

There comes a point in the birth process, where you realize that the only way out,~ is through 😊
There comes a point when one might realize, "oh. This is what so many mothers before me have felt. Oh.. this is why so many women opt for numbing drugs, or scheduled c section surgery. Ahh, i understand now." And then there's the thought "this is the point where the mothers before me felt afraid, or unsupported, or unprepared for."
I imagine that if i was not rooted in my decision to birth with out any assistance at all, I could have came to the place of fear & transferring to a hospital.
I can imagine that if i didn't prepare myself for a bodily sensation that literally makes you feel you want to crawl out of your skin, i could have went for the epidural.
I can imagine that if i didn't have a deep spiritual connection to Great Spirit, that I would have felt completely alone and incapable.
And then that all sinks into my being and my heart unfolds like a blooming flower, each petal made of compassion and reverence for every mother before me.
Birth is so humbling. It's stripping. Its vulnerable. It's everything imaginable.
Motherhood is not for the weak, and it's certainly not for one woman to do alone.
This is why I am so passionate about supporting the women around me, to share unbiased information that way a mother may make informed decisions for her birth and so that she may build the birth of her dreams and feel supported along the way.
This is my motivation for creating a birth preparation guide to offer to you all.

After becoming a mother it's apparent most people have become completely oblivious to this 😅 please remember that a mama bear will eat you alive if you go near her cubs.
Put less stress on mothers and simply ask before you touch their babies. 😊

We can try to control. We want so badly to control

We can try to control. We want so badly to control. But we just simply can't. We are not God. But rather a vessel of Creation itself.
We are a channel for the divine.
For a spirit to come from there, through our bodies, to here.
We can try to use all the gadgets, the man made drugs, the man made theories, etc, but in the end Only one thing decides fate. And it's not us.
One of the greatest teachings of motherhood, if we so choose, is to surrender to what we cannot control. To surrender to Great Spirit, the Creator, and the Great Mystery.
To be in full devotion to a plan that is greater than our own. This includes loss. This includes death. This includes every possible outcome in existence. Choosing full self responsibility, the ability to respond, to be accountable for your decisions, the decision to Surrender & Trust in the unknown, in full devotion to life & Great Sprit is one of the greatest acts in life, and the biggest teaching available through the motherhood initiation (pregnancy/birth)

Thank you for the warmth, the fire, the sun, the light. There is so much light everywhere. Thank you for family, connection, friendships, relational beings, sensorial bodies. Thank you for the incredibly nourishing and abundant foods. The spring water up the road from our home that we pray in gratitude for as we hydrate our bodies. Thank you bodies and for everything you do for us to live. Thank you for the continuation, the teachings, the learnings. Thank you for this beautiful daughter who has come into our lives and who guides our future. Who brings so much joy to our hearts and beings. Thank you ancestors for protecting us. A birth story sharing circle that i will facilitate.
This will be a private, safe and confidential container of women to either witness or be witnessed in sharing the story of their babies birth.
The birth of our little ones are monumental moments of our lives and it is so healing to share and be heard.
I find that many women never get to tell their story where others find relief in sharing it.

This is for all types of birth stories. Whether it be in the hospital, with a medical midwife, with a sovereign midwife, or unassisted. There is no discrimination, only support & the medicine of witnessing and being witnessed.

• Babies in arms welcomed, but due to the nature of the intimacy in the stories, it's best older children stay with a care provider .
• I kindly suggest it is not a space for pregnant women, or first time mothers who are pregnant, in case there are traumatic stories shared. However, this is up to each woman herself.
• This is also an open invitation for maidens interested in hearing the profound and diverse expressions of birth.

Anything other than spontaneous birth is premature birth.

There is a cultural obsession with evicting babies before they are ready to be born.

I feel this stems from a rooted lack of trust in Great Spirit/God, a lack of trust in the intelligence of our bodies and our babies' bodies , and in divinity itself.

Perhaps its related to our wish to play God, and to try to control fate.

There is an obvious influence & push from the medical system, including medical home birth midwives, who are threatening women that if they do not birth within a certain arbitruary time frame, they would be submitted to the hospital, or if in the hospital scheduled for invasive surgery.

No, babies do not expire. No, our babies' placenta does not expire.

Yes, our babies will be born when they are ready.

No, if there is a true emergency, surgury would be automatic, and an immediate response.

Rushing birth is completely opposite of what our primal biological bodies require to birth.

Inductions, medical and "natural" (i dont believe in natural inductions, simply because rushing birth is not natural itself) are harmful to both mother and baby and can be life threatening! (Yes even the "natural" ones).

Inductions are the beginning of a cascade of interventions.

And as we understand through physiological birth, birth works best when left undisturbed.

The more that we trust in our bodies, trust in our babies, trust in great spirit, trust in the creator , and trust in the great mystery- the more peacefully our little ones will be brought into this world, and the more peace will ripple into the world and for future generations.
